We take in well over a thousand doors each year to restore for customers. We remove the paint and, if required, pick out the old plaster filler and rubber plastic filler. We refix the beading, and sand away any previous decorator scorch marks and old paint stains, then meticulously build up a lovely wax-polished surface.
Maintenance thereafter is simple: just re-wax as often as you like, or not at all. No cracking paint or varnish to deal with in the future!
Lovely old rim locks with brass fittings and original handles look splendid.
We also restore customers’ furniture, including tables, chests of drawers, and beds. We can even make new furniture from reclaimed timber, bedheads, bookshelves, and undertake special requests.
A useful tip: when building a house extension or just a new doorway, buy the door first after your joiner has advised you of the measurements, so that the frame can be fitted to the door with minimal adjustments.
